Following its acquisition in June 2016, Neotel officially joined the Liquid Telecom Group in February and a new leadership team has since been appointed in South Africa to oversee major investment in its network and services.
The firm has now been rebranded as Liquid Telecom South Africa.
Neotel transition will allow it to work closely with Liquid Telecom Group’s wider pan-African operations, which include over 50,000km of fibre stretching across 9 countries in the region, connecting South Africa, Kenya, Tanzania, Rwanda, Uganda, Botswana, DRC, Zimbabwe and Zambia.

Businesses of all sizes across South Africa now have direct access to the largest independent fibre network in Africa, served through one single point of contact and covered under one service level agreement. The rebrand also reaffirms the group’s commitment to upgrading and expanding its network across South Africa, which will result in greater access to high-speed connectivity for more customers.
Neotel’s retail business, which includes the award-winning fixed-line broadband service Neobroadband, will continue to operate under the Neotel name, which has strong brand recognition and appeal to South African consumers.
In May, Kyle Whitehill was appointed CEO of Neotel and Liquid Telecom South Africa. He brings extensive international experience and leadership, having previously served as CEO in some of the fastest growing telecoms markets across the Middle East, Asia and Africa.
Michael Allschwang has also joined the Neotel management team as Chief Sales and Marketing Officer. He brings deep local and regional market expertise, having previously worked for African mobile network operator Vodacom.
