Uganda’s Service Hunt helps you locate everyday small service providers

Service Hunt, is Uganda’s new online platform that connects users to everyday service providers such cleaners, painters, wedding service providers, photographers, stationers, lawyers, accountants among others to help its users quickly and easily locate service providers and engage them.

The marketplace allows small service providers to advertise their businesses online and reach millions of potential customers using the platform. The directory offers both free and premium listing services to help the public to search through, locate and contact service providers they need.

Founded by Moses Tindyebwa, Bwengye Brian, Arnold Bigirwa and Alice Kigaane,  Service Hunt currently has over 500 Service providers who have listed their profiles on the platform with some of them paying for premium featured positions at the top of the site thereby earning Service Hunt some money to foot their operations.

Though the platform is now live in Uganda, with a few of its users from around central Kampala, its aim is to expand across Africa into markets such as Kenya, Tanzania, Rwanda, Burundi, South Sudan, Ethiopia, Somalia among others. Whether it will survive on not is hugely dependent on the value its customers get from the platform as platforms such as Instagram, Twitter, Facebook among others already provide directory services for Business Profiles. There are also a number of players doing this already and the firm will  have to do much more than just doing listings to make money to foot its bill and substantially grow.

However, the concept works and with great execution, the directory might become of the biggest local service provider SME directory in Uganda.
