The initiative dubbed The Real Business Accelerator (RBA) seeks to find entrepreneurs who can convert brilliant ideas into action and start off their businesses read more www.top10money.com.
RBA is an initiative of Educat a Danish organisation based in Kigali, Rwanda working for change and The Banque Populaire du Rwanda (BPR) and KLM – Royal Dutch Airlines. The partners will facilitate a professional framework throughout the week, offering various training sessions, coaching, legal advice and budget support and ICT support.
RBA marks the Global Entrepreneurship by allowing the “Accelerators” to pitch their businesses to a jury who will then select a winner. The winner will receive a 2.000.000 Rwf (US$ 3000) cash price, 3-5 month professional mentorship and office space at the REAL Centre-incubator.
The deadline for submitting applications was on November 2, November 5 20 businesses were selected and interviews were held on November 6 and 7. The top 10 will be selected to go through the REAL Business Accelerator and have a shot at the REAL – Bank Populaire Entrepreneurship Award 2012 and representing Rwanda in the Pan-African competition Meet the Lions in South Africa.
The winner will also receive international mentor-ship for 3-5 months from the GROW movement.
Educat is also scheduled to launch The REAL center early 2013 as a meeting place for Rwandan entrepreneurs hosting a business incubator, a co-working space and an educational center. The winner will additionally get a place in The REAL Center Incubator from the beginning of 2013 and for a 6 months period.
