You probably remember the KKYB crew at Demo Africa. The awesome guys who help corwdsource designers and writers for clients have made some changes. They remain as KKYB productions. But their products has been renamed Yeboao.
Abigail Alomele the Managing Director told TechMoran why Yeboao is big and means business.
Yeboao (An Akan, Ghanaian Language, word which means “We assist you”), a product of KKYB Productions. It is an online platform which crowd-sources designers and writers to provide excellent services to our clients. It gives our clients quality, variety, speed and control. On our website, www.yeboao.com [3] [3], designers and writers get to earn money, build their skills, improve their portfolio, meet other designers and writers and are exposed to a lot of clients and loads of resouces to help them in their jobs. So basically Yeboao seeks to provide it’s clients with creativity and professionalism and to create thousands of jobs, especially, in Africa through our online plaftform.
When was it launched and where?
Yeboao (Then KOS, KKYB Online Services) was Launched in Kumasi (the Ashanti Region of Ghana) on the 1st of June, 2012.Who are its founders their age, education or firm behind it?
It’s founders are the Kekeli Buckner and Abigail Alomele. 23 years and 22 years of age respectively. Kekeli Buckner is a student of KNUST (Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology), Ghana. Abigail Alomele is a former student of GIJ (Ghana Institute of Journalism), Ghana. What inspired them to find it?
Graphic designer are underrated and underpaid in Ghana. Some graphic designers are also very terrible. Yeboao, came as a result of this problem.(When we went to Kenya, we were told that the situation was not different there). So Yeboao was built to give graphic designers the respect and the payment they deserve (because the world cannot do without them) and to give our clients nothing but the best.

When clients post jobs on our site we notify our designers via email and text messages. Then our designers submit their responses to the job. The contest holder then chooses the design of their choice when the contest ends. The winning designer will receive the prize money while a percentage is shared amongst all other designers who participated in the contest by submitting designs.
With the writing jobs, the writers submit proposals to the jobs at hand. The client chooses the writer of his choice based on the quality of their proposal and then enters into a contract with the writer to complete his project. All of this is done online. We keep our clients notified via text messages.
How many users on board now?
We currently have over 500 clients and designers registered on our site.
What is your business model?
Our business thrives on an active community of designers and writers. We gain clients using online marketing.
Competition?
In Africa, the online job market is virtually untapped; we have no known competition in Africa but internationally Elance, 99designs are our competition.
Unlike our competition we reward all our designers for just participation in contests. This ensures that they keep submitting quality designs. We also have a much more simple and easy to use interface and alert our members using text messages as well as emails. We are also focused on creating jobs in Africa for Africans.Any funding, awards yet?
As at now, we are self-funded but some investors are interested in our company as a result of our participation in DEMO Africa 2012.Challenges?
In relation to yeboao, our main challenge would be publicity. We have a wonderful service but too few people know about it.Future plans/expansion?
We are planning a launch of a massive marketing campaign in some selected countries. In the near future we plan on adding even more online services to yeboao.
