We just realised that Kenya’s daily deals website Rupu has done what it promised. The startup, launched in December 2010 by Ben Maina, now 28 and a team of young Kenyans has introduced Rupushops!
Rupushops was Monday launched in Beta and opened for business.
Ben Maina Rupu Kenya’s CEO said, “Rupushops goes into beta testing…we are open for business http://rupushops.co.ke/ “.
According to Rupu, Kenya’s original success story, Rupushops.co.ke is an online store for safe and secure online shopping in Kenya where buyers can find everything from computers and mobile phones to fashion accessories and the latest music albums. Rupushops.co.ke is also working with physical retail stores to have their stuff sold online through the Rupushops portal.
Want to know, the difference? Rupu.co.ke featured only deals and discounted items but Rupushops will sell just nearly everything online on its new portal at an affordable price. The goods are supplied by offline retail partners offering best deals or according to Rupushops preference. They do not take credit or installments, they are not a hire purchase.
Buying from Rupushops is safe and secure payments and the startup says it takes Pesapal, MPesa, Airtel Money, Visa, MasterCard and a variety of direct banking options. Rupushops does not deliver outside Kenya unless a customer has a special arrangement. Inland delivery takes 3-5 working days.
To use Rupushops, one has to sign up.
The team at Rupushop says, “If you are a new user, then you can register in a few easy steps and create your own Rupu Shops account. Just fill out your email, billing address and telephone number and you are all done. After you register, you need to fill in your email address and password to login to your Rupu Shops account. You have to login to have full access on Rupu Shops.”
For retailers who want to partner with Rupushops, the team says,”www.rupushops.co.ke is constantly looking for products available to offer for sale on our website. To become a supplier, please send an email with your proposal and company information to [email protected]”
