Last week the Ethiopia’s Ministry of Communications & Information Technology announced the commencing of 49 e-services to help governmental institutions begin offering online services.
Ethiopians can now apply for passports online at www.eservices.gov.et.The e-service installation and development cost 3.8 million Birr and was done by Africom Technologies Plc and E-System Africa.
According to Government Application Development & Electronic Services team leader Mesay Hailemariam, “Clients seeking to take advantage of the e-services can do so by going to the relevant offices just once.”
Earlier the ministry had said it will install 75 e-service portals for the Addis Ababa City Administration, the Ministry of Industry, Ministry of Culture & Tourism, Ministry of Finance and Economic Development, Ministry of Trade and Ministry of Labor & Social Affairs12 governmental institutions for 1.9 million Br from Africom.
Ministries of Agriculture, Urban Development, Health, Foreign Affairs, Labor & Social Affairs, the Federal Transport Authority and the Agency for Government Houses are also on the list for e-services.
