More from the interview below.
When was it launched?
It was officially launched on September 25, 2012. It was first opened for Rwandan businesses and organizations only, but it has recently extended its presence to additional countries in East Africa.
Who are its founders?
Myself – Epaphrodite Bizimana.
What inspired you to found it?
My profession is as a software engineer residing in U.S, and I see how I create sophisticated systems here in U.S. I decided to help African businesses and organizations by creating a sophisticated system that they can use for free. More exciting features are on their way, and we are always continuing to find ways to make it more useful to its users.
How does it work?
So simple, just create a profile and see how simple it’s. Bizilist was created using Microsoft
ASP.NET MVC 3 Framework on the front end. It also employs WCF Services.
Biggest Achievement so far?
Getting it off the ground is a big achievement. As a person who was born in Rwanda, grew up in Kenya and now living and working in U.S, I have always wanted to use my skills and expertise to provide something that can help businesses and organizations of where I trace my roots.
Any Partnerships?
Although I own BiziList, I am surrounded by a team of people who have bought into my vision, and are willing to do whatever it takes to help BiziList become even a greater tool that all businesses and organizations and benefit from.
Any competition?
We have a lot of great things coming down through the pipe, and I can confidently say that no other website offers the combination of services BiziList is going to provide.
Any challenges?
There are always challenges in any project, but the biggest challenge up to date is making sure that the resources available are being spent efficiently to make sure that BiziList provides its users the best experience possible.
Future Plans?
Some future plans can not be disclosed, but one of the things we plan on doing in the future is making the website multi-lingual.
