Click Trade Ghana links buyers and sellers online for free.
It provides an online platform for merchants to sell their wares free and quickly. According to the founders, one can sign up simply then list, search, buy or sell items, products, services or just give exposure to their firms without need for posters or word of mouth.
They add that it also has a request feature where users can request for products and/or services by targeting people in a particular region.
This Christmas, TechMoran caught up with the founders and this is what we found out.
When was it launched and where is it based?
Click Trade Ghana was launched in October for testers, the site is still under testing mode but we have people using it. We take feedback and try to improve it.
Who are its founders?
I, Rasheeda Mandeeya Yehuza and Christopher Amanor.
What inspired you to find it?
People who do not own shops, companies or websites find it difficult selling simple products such as computers and accessories, phones, shoes, books, etc. This platform gives every individual in each region the opportunity to target every internet and mobile user.
Driving signs, walls and trees are covered with posters illegally especially on University campuses. This act leads to road accidents, and an untidy environment. Click Trade Ghana therefore provides a common place for such advertisers to list their products without any costs on printing and saves a lot of time in pasting them around.
How does it work?Take us through your features?
Click Trade Ghana is an online avenue to quickly list, search, buy and sell items, products, services, companies and the like without you being physically present.
Individuals simply register for free, get their own homepage and they can easily add products they want to sell as a user or company.
People looking to find products also have different categories they can browse through and pickup products affordable to them.
We have a requesting feature which allows users to request for products at their own price range, stating when they need it, and the state in which they need it.
We then link the requester to companies who have signed up on the site under the category the user requested for at no charge.
In the future, we will introduce online payment and delivery so that people can trust the site and pay online since we will be doing the delivery.
Platforms apart from the website, like apps for Android? iOSetc?
We do not have apps for the mobile platforms but working on them. For now we want to release a mobile web version before release native app versions.
Are you solving the issue already?
Yes we are, we have people using the platform and the response has been good. Whenever we approach students, businesses with this solution, they love it and visit frequently to find products on the site.
Are you funded?
No we aren’t funded, but we are trying very hard to get funding. It is a great initiative and with a little push we will have millions across the continent using it and practically solving a problem in Africa.
Any awesome achievements?
We do not have much to brag about yet but have about 100 users on our platform already, without people knowing about it and going in on advertisement. We will soon be going on a ‘get to know Click Trade Ghana’ spree, and getting people to hear about the platform and using it.
But we can say we have been featured on Metro News in the Netherlands, which is actually a great deal to get on such a huge news site.
One of challenges we are facing is funding and getting people to know the product. We need to run ads and visit businesses one-on-one which we do, but two of us cannot reach everyone and we find it difficult getting a ‘reach out’ team, because everyone wants to get paid.
Aside that, we grow strong and attack the challenges one at a time without complaining. We use the little funds we have going from business to business and from class to class on the university campus.
Any expansion plans beyond Ghana?
Yes, we want to expand to every African country in the near future and beyond. Actually, we have already expanded to Zambia (www.clicktradezambia.com), which is in testing mode.
