A new online TV platform dubbed SnooKBase lets one search, create a playlist, save and watch their favourite African videos for free.
SnooKBase team says the platform is the best alternative for YouTube, Vimeo and DailyMotion video fans who want Africa’s best.
According to the team, ‘Users don’t have to search and manually alternate videos now and then like on other such platforms. Our intelligent video player lets one search for African videos, movies, TV shows, webisodes and instead of remembering all of them, the user just creates a playlist from the thousands of African video content.”
The platform works simply.
One signs up with an email and password.
Then they can search through millions of songs on YouTube, Vimeo and DailyMotion with snookbase intelligent search.
The user then adds the videos on their playlist and then they can play them on a loop or use the shuffle feature.
The team says, “Your playlist is stored when you create a playlist and save so you can come back to the website and your playlist will have your favorite movies, TV shows, music video .Save your playlist by clicking save. Now you can share it by right-clicking a song and select ‘Copy Playlist Link’. Send it to your friends or use it at work.”
Users can also search for an artist/song name on the SnooKBase title list then ‘collect in’ several videos to their playlists.
SnooKBase looks like a saviour to the many African content lovers in the diaspora especially those who want to watch movies and videos themed on the continent. However the African video scenario is awash with other players who have already made a name for themselves.
iROKO Partners, counting big on partnerships with artists and producers on the continent has exclusive rights to distribute their content. Now with a global audience of over 6 million unique users from over 178 countries, the platform is expanding its user base in London, New York and across Africa.
iRoko Partners also have a mobile music service dubbed iRoking which recently partnered with mobile social network Eskimi to reach its over 5 million mobile users on the continent with live music.
There is also smartphone African video service Afrinolly, tvnolly, realnollymovies, Kenya’s Buni TV and SA’s Wabona.
But SnooKBase say this is no big deal. The platform is catching in the chips to aggregate the whole African content on YouTube, Vimeo, Dailymotion and becoming Africa’s largest entertainment Videos directory on the planet.
