Sunday Thai police arrested Hamza Bendelladj, 24, the Algerian wanted by the FBI for allegedly making millions of dollars from hacking.
Bendelladj was arrested in Bangkok’s Suvarnabhumi Airport on his transit from Malaysia.
According to Immigration Bureau chief Pharnu Kerdlarpphon speaking to Bangkokpost; “We were tipped off to his arrival by the FBI, who have been following his case for the past three years.”
The 24 year old allegedly used a satellite phone and notebook computer and now might be extradited to Georgia, US, where a warrant of arrest is issued against him.
Thai authorities say Bendelladj is top ten on FBI’s most wanted list but to this, the 24 year old denied with a laugh, saying:
“I’m not in the top 10, maybe just 20th or 50th, I am not a terrorist.”
