The Mara Launchpad today January 25 is hosting a pre-launch event of the Mara BizHack to run from Feb 8 to February 10 at Mara Launchpad in a move that will see entrepreneurs form dream teams in a record 48 hours, beat their competitors and demonstrate how their tech idea or small business works.
The winners will get free office space at the Mara Launchpad, one-on-one mentorship through Mara Mentor and might raise a seed investment of around $2,000 to $4000 from Mara Launch Uganda Fund.
The competition is open for entrepreneurs, techies, branding gurus.
Those attending the pre-launch event are seasoned tech entrepreneurs in the country including: Dr. Davis Musinguzi – tech entrepreneur, winner of US$ 50k Warid Entrepreneurship Fund, Abdu Sekalala, a Nokia apps developer, Solomon King – founder of Node Six and Fundi Bots, Michael Niyitegeka – Motivational speaker, Head of Corporate Relations, CCIS, Makerere, Steven Musoke – software engineer, techie, former operations manager at OFFTECH, James Makumbi – Microsoft apps developer, founder of Billable Hours and consultants from leading consultancy firm KPMG.
The event is began at 5.30pm EAT and at the Mara Launchpad, 3rd Floor Ham Towers (Tusky’s Building) opposite Makerere Main Gate.
