
February 5 the Technology Salon will discuss the next big application after M-PESA. The one hour event held at Nairobi’s Population council, Kenya mobile apps that will take education, healthcare, or agriculture by storm both among rural and urban folks in East Africa.
The team consisting of Wayan Vota, Technology Salon founder, Nicola D’Elia of Facebook, Angela Crandall of iHub Research and Toni Maraviglia of mPrep will share opinions and thoughts on what could be the next big application in reach and impact like M-PESA.
They will also discuss social needs and user adoption of mobile apps in the region and look at the right balance between user adoption and development goals and free and paid models.
Founded in April of 2008, Technology Salon is a forum where technology and development professionals discuss emerging trends in ICT and international development in an intimate and informal discussion way. Technology Salon’s are around technology’s impact on donor-sponsored technical assistance delivery and how technology by private enterprises drive economic development.
