February 7 at the Mobile Money Expo & Conference held at Lagos Orientals Hotel, Eskimi, a mobile social network with over 10 million users in Africa, was recognized as The Best Mobile Social Network by the grand jury of Mobile Money Africa. Eskimi was recongnized as the best product and for the input and marketing efforts to increase the mobile money usage and financial inclusion.
The Kalahari Awards are given to firms with significant contribution to the mobile financial sector and are likely to disrupt the market in the near future.
The inaugural awards were decided by an independent panel of expert judges looking at various categories such as Geographic market penetration, on-going commercial campaigns, necessary regulatory compliance, partnerships in the sector, active deployments and potentials for growth.
The Kalahari awards cover all players in the financial services sector like mobile network operators, financial institutions, independent providers, systems and application providers, regulators, international development agencies, micro finance organizations and individuals.
