YouTube has been pulled offline for a whole month in Egypt by a ruling from Egypt’s administrative court for broadcasting an anti-Islam and blasphemous video.
The 13-minute film called ‘Innocence of Muslims’ is said to be insulting the Prophet Mohammad, is a trailer made in the US and shows the Prophet as a sexual deviant and a fool according to the court, hence blasphemous.
Last September, the rose massive anti-American unrest in the muslim world and the case was handed over to the court which has now ordered the country’s ministry of communication and investment to block YouTube.
According to the court, YouTube “insisted on broadcasting the film insulting Islam and the Prophet, disrespecting the beliefs of millions of Egyptians and disregarding the anger of all Muslims”
