Apple today said it was attacked by a malware attack similar to one on Facebook.
According to the firm the malware attackers took advantage of a Java plug-in vulnerability for browsers and just a few company systems were compromised, no data reported as compromised though.
The attack infected its systems from a site software developers use. The firm is working security agencies now to track the attacks and scanning Macs and ejecting the Java malware. The firm has also stopped using Java in its OS by default beginning with Mac OS X Lion.
Facebook is reportedly working with the FBI to track the attackers. Early in the morning today some reports claimed the attacks were coming from a building from Shanghai reportedly run by military.
