If you are in Kenya, we hope you have voted. We have. So let’s just hope you are reading this via a mobile device. Voting is going on well across the country and there is no cause for alarm.
The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission, Kenya’s elections and boundaries body decided to use manual voter registers as the electronic Voter Identification System was acting up in a number of polling centres and could not be used to verify voter identity. Good thing the printed copies were at arms reach.
Vice Chair Lillian Mahiri-Zaja said: “It appears that the poll book is experiencing problems and we have asked our officers to use the printed register.”
Not cause for alarm friends, the manuals have coloured photos and the team checking them are dedicated at just doing that. Not even identical twins can pass as one.
Some guys (90%) though never verified their details but most of them are lucky, their details are correct but some will be sick when they realize that their qeuieng for hours under the hot tropical sun was useless. Anyway choose wisely, this is your moment. Please maintain peace.
