
Two weeks after launching public cloud services in Nigeria, Business Connexion, Africa’s leading provider of Data Centre and Private Cloud Computing Services in Africa, yesterday launched another the services in South Africa.
Jacques Loubser, Business Connexion General Manager: Cloud Infrastructure Services said,“We are excited to launch these offerings in the South African market. The demand for hosted services in Africa and South Africa continues to grow at an impressive rate and because the majority of businesses in South Africa require these core IT services at reduced cost, we foresee exponential growth with this offering.”
Business Connexion said it will offer the services as a channel partner programme to build ecosystem all the way down the value chain from ISV, Telco’s, Banks, Distributors, OEM’s, emerging business. The service is also highly expected to lead to regular release of applications for specific vertical markets.
According to the firm, the Cloud Services Brokerage is the first of its kind in Africa and will allow partners to offer IT services focused on giving businesses, that have not had access to traditional on-premise basic IT services, the opportunity to leverage innovative cloud services.
The firm promised that its clients will have access to increased flexibility and rapid provisioning of IT services with no capital investment. The monthly or yearly subscription based services are offered in a hosted environment and the firm will help its clients to adapt to challenges like unpredictable and rapid changes in the business environment, shorter provisioning cycles and improved self-service plus de-risk IT investments and increase efficiencies.
Business Connexion said it “will initially offer the following services: Hosted Infrastructure, and the following Software as a service, Business Email (corporate-class email and shared calendaring, task, and contact capabilities),Business instant messaging (instant messaging and presence, voice and video conferencing, and mobile applications), and Business Portal (a flexible, customizable platform that enables document sharing, workflows, discussion forums, and more)”.
The cloud service brokerage service will be hosted at its Tier IV data centre facility with a 99.995% availability..
