nintagNintag is an internet based search engine accessible on multiple devices, via web and mobile. Nintag’s core goal is to make search on Nigeria and Africa relevant and simpler, thereby making the results useful to the world.

Nintag was released to the public October 8 2012 for beta testing to see how well it works but according to the founders,  a lot have been changed as they add new and improve features every time. The search engine went fully public  February 4 2013.

TechMoran met the three founders and this is what they told us.

How many countries is it operating?

We currently operate in Nigeria but after we gain our ground here, our goal is to expand to Ghana, South Africa, Kenya, and later cover the whole of Africa.
Who are its founders?

Nintag was founded by Mathias Oni, Justice Adeyinka  Adeyemo and James Mocha Uchefuna

What problem do you solve?

The problem that Nintag solve is how Nigeria searches for content online. Many Nigerian’s site goes offline because they have no way of advertising there site to the Nigerian Consumers also the cost are often too much for an average Business Owner in Nigeria and most of the time the information requested of  site such as Google  they don’t have or can’t get. To get the result you need on Google its rather you type in exactly the site name of what you are looking for. That is why we decided to solve this issue by launching an African Search Engine that caters only to content related to its country using any available keyword or words you can think of.

Well simply put Nintag offers an Adword system at a very low rate. We offer different services of advertising for even the lowest money making business in Nigeria. We know that not all company in Nigeria have a website presence that is why if you notice our Adword system is a bit different from that of Google or any other search engine out there. Many Businesses are already coming on board with us since our Adword is cost effective. Utilizing our PPC means you only pay when your ads is click on, meaning you paying less than 100 naira on each customer you bring into your company. Any funding yet?

Currently Nintag is being funded by us the founders. We are really calling out on investors to come on board with us but at this moment none have yet. We are working on some few and we are hoping on positive result.

How much?

We the founder have spent a minimum of $20,000
Challenges?

The challenges we are facing now is simply investors, We know with the help of an investor Nintag can reach a great height by actually being the main searching utility used by Nigerians. For example take a look at Baidu the Chinese number one Search Engine Utility.

Any upcoming developments, like this month, next month or in a few months?

Yes of cause Nintag continues its development to be a better search engine utility. We are working and testing many features that will soon be added to Nintag and we will keep our customer and our fans up to date on twitter and Facebook fan page. Thank you for having us. And we truly appreciate your interest in us.
