Kenya’s tech blogger Robert Alai is reportedly arrested. We sent a reporter out two hours ago and we are waiting for his report.
Alai out of good will represented himself at the Milimani Law Courts after reports that he was wanted for hate speech and bad mouthing Francis Kimemia, the cabinet secretary and head of Kenya’s civil service. Meanwhile, a cross-section of Kenyans are calling for his release while others want him charged. Irrespective of his weaknesses or ego, whatever happens to Alai will set a precedent for all law abiding Kenyans however silent or quiet they are. Several are wondering why another top blogger who allegedly hacked Kenya’s IEBC is free and walking tall while Alai is arrested for his civil tweets on revolution.
We will bring you a full story or video when our reporter responds.
