Human Capital Development organization, Inspire Africa has today with partnered with MTN Uganda to unveil a show dubbed Sawa ya Cash, Luganda for cash hour in a move to inspire entreprenuership among the show’s viewers in Uganda, Kenya, Tanzania and Rwanda
Sawa Ya Cash will identify local entrepreneurs to compete for 5,000,000/- (around US$ 2000) worth of business start-up capital weekly for 15 weeks. The TV series in Luganda , will be aired Bukedde TV every Tuesday and Wednesday 8:00pm – 8:30pm and is the first edition of the local reality television series with local participants.
MTN Uganda is the key executive sponsor while Bank of Africa will produce the TV show.

The TV series, Sawa Ya cash is expected to entertain, inspire and empower viewers with dynamic content and show them how successful local businessmen in the country live and what inspires them to be who they are so as viewers can be inspired into entrepreneurship.
Each episode will have a debate among 5 contestants pitching before a panel of Senior Entrepreneurs. The contestants have to show how they will use the prize money to scale their startups if they win it.
In total, after the15 weeks, 75 candidates will have pitched in the TV reality show, 15 candidates will walk away with 5 million each (approx US$ 2k) to run their startups or ideas. There is no equity or interest accrued over the prize money.
Anyone between 18 and 35 years can participate in the series as long as they pick application forms at any Bank of Africa Branches in Kampala or online at www.inspireafrica.co.ug and on social media. SMS applicants can send the word CASH, their name and location to 8338 to participate.
