The VC4Africa London meetup is live at the moment in a move to come up with ways to build tech entrepreneurship in Africa.
The networking event in London began December 5 2008 and VC4Africa says it has grown from strength to strength.
The meetup, at London’s the Cape Bar on the corner of Wood Street and Love Lane, E2V 7JQ, has brought together VC4Africa friends, entrepreneurs and partners with the largest online community connecting African entrepreneurs and investors.
According to VC4Africa the meetup is an additional networking venue where VC4Africa members, and supporters meet face to face to share thoughts and ideas.
“There are no speeches; no agenda and nothing planned which allows for lots of networking and info swapping.’
Recently, VC4Africa announced that entrepreneurs had raised more over $1 million in funding through its online platform VC4Africa.biz and joint ventures and investments had been secured by members across the continent. It added that since January 1st, 2013, 8 ventures initiated fundraising campaigns, 3 have since secured lead investors and currently 5 new deals are under negotiation.
Such meetups are what fuel investments as the investors feel the need to invest themselves without being asked to. The online network has signed up over 10,000 members and welcomed over 40 investors. Way to go guys!
