Tigo Ghana has donated modems and unlimited Internet data towards the national launch of World TB Day and National TB Prevalence Survey.
The donation, worth over GH¢ 3,000 for a whole year under the firm’s CSR’s programme themed ‘Supporting Communities, Improving Lives’ is aimed at creating wareness and effects of TB in Ghana.
According to Mr Ernest Agbedanu, Tigo representative from Ghana’s Ashanti Region in a statement said:”‘Tigo continues to show its support in the health sector and understands the need to contribute to the general well being of society.”
He added that the modems and data packages will support image transmission by digital x-ray and provide internet service for the various services towards health.
According to the statement Ghana is one of the countries likely to achieve the Millennium Development Goal for TB by 2015.
The donations will give opportunity to use tele-medicine intervention in the country. The unlimited internet and modems will therefore help reach this milestone quickly by supporting patient’s image transmission by digital x-ray hence quick medical attention.
