+Yonatan Zunger, Principal Engineer at Google yesterday announced that Google+ comments were now coming to blogger in what he said a move to help bloggers connect with their readers.
He announced, “Starting today, you can bring Google+ Comments to your Blogger blog.’
The feature is enabled through the Blogger Dashboard and allows one to view their blog and Google+ comments, all in one place.
“Now when you’re browsing your blog’s comment threads, you’ll see activity from direct visitors, and from people talking about your content on Google+, ” he added.
The feature also helps readers comment publicly, or privately to their circles on Google+. The readers can see the comments, they have permission to and for the reader this transforms into more traffic.
Users of Blogger who want to set up Google+ Comments should head to the Google+ tab of their Blogger Dashboard and allow the feature by checking “Use Google+ Comments.”Google+ Comments will bring the older comments.
Google+ Comments seem to taking on Facebook comments as the social networks struggle for market share.
Last month, a report by UK market research firm Trendstream in its Global Web Index said Google+ is the fastest growing and second largest social network in terms of active users. Facebook‘s active users in December 2012 stood at 693 million, compared to 343 million for Google+, a figure that took Facebook almost six years to reach.
Google+ is also gaining popularity with hangouts and integration to Google’s other services such as chat, Gmail, Drive among others. Google+ is achieving in months what took Facebook years.
