Key role-players within the South African payroll industry are scheduled to meet at an Interactive Forum at the Woodmead Country Club on 12 June 2013 to discuss pertinent topics affecting payroll within commerce.
The Payroll Interactive Forum will be hosted by Business Connexion Group (BCX) member Accsys, a national supplier of people management software and hardware solutions within the HR, payroll and time & attendance space.
The full-day event will be used to discuss payroll in the 21st century and how IT and IT-related issues, including cloud, social-networking, big data, business intelligence and analytics, affect this critical business discipline.
Accsys has opted to go with a unique, non-traditional conference format. Delegates will be seated at round tables and each table will be ‘hosted’ by either a speaker or industry expert who will facilitate a discussion amongst the group following each presentation. Questions will be directed to presenters to initiate further discussion.
Several industry stalwarts and well-known figures will deliver keynote presentations on the day including; Dean Chivers, Deloitte & Touche Legal SA; David Brown from Profile Holdings; Steven Sekgobela from Coca Cola as well as Magda Jacobs, Cashbuild.
Speakers will cover subjects like how to handle fraud, employee self service, social networking and eRecruitment.
Additionally, Accsys executive management, represented by CEO Teryl Schroenn and CIO Dr Liam Terblanche, will also address delegates and engage with audience members about topics that influence their business.
Schroenn says there are numerous issues that have a direct impact on the way payroll is administered in companies and that which ultimately impacts on the bottom line.
Among these issues are fraud, HR development, technology and legislation.
“We are pleased to present this high profile and industry-wide event. As we have stated in marketing material, in the twenty-first century a career is as important, if not more so, than a job. We strongly endorse the message that conversation is critical if we are to change the traditional practice of payroll administration staff migrating from other departments and not establishing themselves in a career,” says Schroenn.
