According to Njuru Mwangi, the C.E.O and founder, 254Events helps one make an informed decision on which event to attend to when and where by providing information about the events happening: The event itself, the date, time, the venue, who is invited, dress code and charges.
“With this you will be able to know where to be at any particular time and be able to choose what event to attend,” Mwangi adds.
“We at 254events aim at helping you publicize your events. Be it a birthday party or a concert we will help you by letting the people know about the event. We do help publicize the events by posting them on our website and sharing them through the social networks that is on Facebook through our page 254Events and on twitter through our handle @254events,” he said.
To show the company is headed somewhere, on Saturday May 18 2013,254events participated in the Akirachix mobile garage and emerged second at the iHub beating 20 other mobile applications from around the country in the pitch competitions.
254events, founded in 2012 operating under the slogan “we know what’s happening” aims at publicizing and listing events happening in Kenya. Targeting the youth between 18-35 yrs, we want to help them know all that is happening around them so they’ll be able to have concrete information about the events happening. This will enable them to make an accurate decision on what event to attend and why.
Njuru Mwangi has several people make things happen. Stella Wanjiku is in charge of PR and Marketing, Rodgers Mutisya is in Content and Social Media while Kinyanjui Njoroge is the Business and web/mobile developer.
Apart from them, there is Nairobi Now, KenyaBuzz, GigWapi and now Whatsup KE. Time will tell who disrupts this industry.
