A university student from Kenya’s Moi University has launched a campus social network dubbed VibeCampo 11 months down the line after closing his first business directory dubbed BizCampo.
Evans Kigen, said he stubbornly clung to the product idea thinking of refurbishing it to something bigger and better.
Vibecampo.com will connect Kenyan students online, the engineering student says the platform will help improve online interactions mainly in universities and colleges.
“VibeCampo is a mishmash of highbred slang words meaning: signals or messages sent out to someone and campus respectively. It will ease students as they build their personal brand online, their activities and showcases their accomplishments and grows their reputation,” Kigen said.
“The idea cropped up earlier this year while reporting for 2nd semester In the Electrical and Communication Engineering faculty. Since then it has not been a walk in the park as he had to sacrifice some his classes to finish up with the project,” he added.
