Ethiopia, the second populous nation in Africa is slowly becoming one of the greatest investment destinations. The country has made tremendous growth since 1996. It has been dubbed the 3rd fastest growing economy since 2011 through to 2015.
The country’s development will also be made better by the Ethiopia Banking and ICT Summit 2013 which will be held on 2nd August 2013 at the Sheraton Hotel, Addis Ababa.
The summit will be supported by the Ethiopian Airline, through its Director of Sales and Marketing in Addis Ababa, Seble Wongel.
He established that the Airline will be the official carrier of the event and a Gold sponsor. Other sponsors include Craft Silicon Kenya, Eacademy Group and Oracle.
The summit’s intention is to make an investment in ICT in the country. The country being rich in trade and mining, the introduction of ICT therefore, will be a project to boost the economic development. ICT will create new job opportunities and ideas as well as improve the business situation in the country.
This will further open up the country not only in terms of technology but also in education as e-learning will be easily effected due to the available internet connections.
This will improve literacy levels and also reduce brain drain as many people will leave the country to get a better education and employment. All this will bring forth improved services and market.
The Alliance Manager in the Africa for Cyber Security Africa, Sammy Kioko believes that the event will facilitate interaction in both public and private sectors of business to interact, not only in the country but also internationally.
He added that it will help in the discussion of improving sectors like the environment, technical and business become better.
