Orange subscribers who have been on the network for at least six months, and who have less than KSh 5 of airtime on their mobile phones, now have the alternative to borrow either KSh 50 or the initial KSh 15. The KSh 50 offering can also be used to purchase an unlimited daily mobile internet bundle.
“Our review of the PEWA service is in response to both customer feedback and its uptake among our subscribers,” says the company’s Chief Corporate Communications Officer, Maureen Sande.
Orange Mobile pre-paid customers can dial *133# to access PEWA while those on the Orange Wireless network can send *133*15# or *133*50# as a text to 133. PEWA can be used for both on-net and off-net calls; SMSs, Data, as well as other value added services including subscription to free calls on Holla, the company’s all inclusive daily bundled offer.
PEWA is free for the first 24 hours after the issuance of the credit advance, after which a service charge of 10 percent will be effected. However, the suspension period from the service has also been reduced from 30 days to 15 days.
“PEWA enhanced the list of comprehensive offerings that complement our mass market products and services,” says Ms. Sande, adding that PEWA has been a boost to the company’s loyalty programme – Orange Ziada that has been tailor made to meet the individual needs of the Orange customer. Orange customers currently enjoy a host of bonus options including airtime, data, off-net and on-net SMSs, as well as free value added services ranging from video, music and ringtone downloads.
