UK’s African Movie Channel Launches In Nigeria

amcAfrican Movie Channel UK Ltd, a limited company incorporated in the United Kingdom, on the 28th of February, 2005 is set to launch in Africa.
The global player in the rapidly expanding African film industry will on August  11 launch operations in Nigeria officially at the Oriental Hotel, Lekki, Victoria Island, Lagos, Nigeria.
In 2006 when AMC began operations, it launched Europe’s first channel dedicated to top quality Nollywood and other African movies, in the UK. It also entered a partnership with British Telecom (BT) for users to download some of its movies on the BT Vision Download Store. Later the following year it launched its worldwide On-Demand channel offering full-screen TV for African movies.
 In May 2011, AMC launched a 24-hour African movies and series linear channel which has been on distribution on various TV platforms across the Africa and globally.
In Kenya, AMC is broadcast on Wananchi’s Zuku, in South Africa by On Digital Media’s TopTV  and StarTimes in Nigeria, Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania,  Burundi and Rwanda and on Ghana’s Next Generation Broadcast’s Smart TV. The African Movie Channel’s 24-hour linear channel is now available in over 3 million homes across 14 countries.
