Microsoft Launches Scholarships Under the 4Afrika Brand

Microsoft has partnered with University of the People (UoPeople) to launch an education platform and offer learning opportunities to thousands of post high school students across the continent, to enhance their various skills.

The programme will target those who can learn remotely, which means they need to have internet connectivity wherever they are. They also need to have good command in English and have finished high school.

The finalists to be considered will undergo essay testing and face-to-face interviews.

“Through this program UoPeople and Microsoft will support 1,000 African students to graduate with a world-class academic degree from UoPeople, helping to change the lives of the students, their families and communities and ultimately transforming the continent,” University of the People said.

Students in the programme will be eligible for other initiatives according to UoPeople. These will include: mentorship, training, internship and employment opportunities at Microsoft and their partner companies

Interested applicants should complete the UoPeople online application. Upon admittance to UoPeople, applicants will be invited to submit a request for financial aid from the Microsoft 4Afrika scholarship program, the organization stated.
