Guaranty Trust Bank Launches Social Banking in Nigeria

The bank has launched a new product allowing account holders of GTBank Social Account to transfer money, purchase airtime, pay bills, and confirm their account balance on Facebook.

This new kind of social banking adds on to the bank’s intense social media campaign that has seen it garner more than 950,000 Facebook likes to drive business.

Managing Director/CEO of Guaranty Trust Bank plc; Mr Segun Agbaje said “the Bank is committed to ensure its stakeholders can perform financial transactions at their convenience and would continue to introduce safe and novel alternative channels for them to do so.”

Mr. Agbaje further confirmed that the Social Account is different from having a regular GTBank account as it enables people perform banking activities like money transfers, airtime purchases and bills payments while on Facebook.

The bank also has one of the robust internet banking platforms in the country. It supports various online transactions such as bill payments, third party transfers and foreign exchange to any bank account in the world.
