Kenya’s MyHeraldMagazine is promising to inspire, inform and entertain students, entrepreneurs, executives and young policy makers in the country.

Founded January this year by Kenyan Evalyn Oloo, while a student at UK’s  Anglia Ruskin University, My Herald Magazine is run by her UK-based firm Chances Media Ltd  and has both print and online versions. The print copy is published every month while the online version has daily news on Youthful Entrepreneurship, Lifestyle, Health, Entertainment and business.

Speaking to TechMoran during her courtesy call to the Kenya Bloggers Association (BAKE), Oloo said,”While in high school many Kenyan youth are introduced to a variety of magazines which they enjoy, they are however torn apart immediately they leave school.”

“There is no in-between magazines for school leavers and aspiring entrepreneurs,” and added, “We launched My Herald Mgazine to bridge this gap. We focus on this young achievers between 19 and 35  years for their personal and professional development.”

As a transitional magazine, My Herald therefore has  a little of teenage content to adult content. Its vision to inspire, inform and entertain the young achiever who may be a student on campus, an entrepreneurs running her or his own startup, a young executive and young policy maker.

Oloo told TechMoran she raised initial seed funding while on campus to start her Chances Media company which publishes the magazine both online and in print. She has also signed up a number of partners as advertisers to offset the operational costs of the two platforms.
