The LG G2, A Really Good Phone To Have

LGG21

LG electronics has joined the android phone market with style as it has today launched the LG G2 android phone in Kenya.

“Our definition of innovation today is technology that truly resonates with consumers. Base on LG’s  research of consumer lifestyles and behaviours, the smartphone offers users more real life benefits such as ergonomic design, practical functions and an intuitive user experience ,”said Joseph Kim, the LG Marketing Director, East and Central Africa.

The G2 has a 5.2 inch full HD screen, wider than its equivalent because it does not have buttons below. It has a 13MP camera, runs on Android 4.2.2 and has a vivid 1080p HD display.

It will give you high quality photos even when on the move as it has a high resolution camera equipped with Optical Image Stabilizer (OIS); with this a protruding lens is not necessary. With a feature like Super Resolution and Multi-point AF keeps everything in focus.

G2 is the first phone to have Qualcomm’s lightning-quick Snapdragon 800 processor which is at 2.26GHz for all models and providers. It also has a 2GB CPU processor and surprisingly the volume rocker as well as the power buttons of this phone are located at the back of the phone.

The first phone with no buttons will be in the Kenyan market from the last week of October and will retail at Ksh. 60,000.

What is outstanding about the phone is:

  • The fact that it is edge-to edge, no buttons at the front, so in case the backlight goes off the user just taps it twice and it comes on.
  • The phone will pause all the programs running when you look away.
  • You will not need to touch the phone to answer it, it automatically answers the call after lowering the ringtone when the phone is raised to the ear.
  • On multitasking one can open up to 3 windows, as well as copy and pasting from one window to another
  • With this phone you could also zoom audio when in a noisy place
  • The guest mode. It protects owner’s privacy by displaying only pre-selected apps when a guest accesses your phone which a secondary unlocking pattern

It is clear that the LG is targeting the premium market, well that is according to the research they say they did, that is the reason behind the pricing, but with the level of technology accredited to the G2 its easy for one to think it is worth the money, because as of now no smartphone has that level of advancement.
