The Kingdom of Buganda wants you to donate money to the king easily, and from wherever.
The kingdom has partnered with MTN Uganda to launch a Mobile Money fundraising platform for subjects and well-wishers to donate cash to the kingdom’s development initiatives or Bulungi Bwansi.
Users have to be MTN Uganda subscribers and registered MTN Mobile Money users.
Then all one has to do is;
Step 1 – Select Mobile Money
Step 2 – Select Pay Bill
Step 3 – Select Pay Goods and Services
Step 4 – Enter the Code (the code is BUGANDA) in capital letters.
Step 5 – Enter Amount
Step 6 – Enter Reference-(which is TWEZIMBE) in capital letters
Step 7 – Confirm payment
Step 8 – Step 9 – Enter your Mobile Money PIN and press OK
The donations will be used for re-building of the Masiro, renovation of the Bulange buildings and donation into the Bulungi Bwansi initiatives. The platform was officially commissioned by the Kabaka of Buganda HRH Ronald Muwenda Mutebi II.
