Apple has announced two exquisite iPads, the iPad Air and the iPad mini with Retina  display.

The new devices feature the Apple-designed A7 chip which is 64-bit,  it is wireless with a faster in-built Wi-Fi and expanded LTE cellular connectivity as well as the iOS 7 software. The new iPads also feature the M7 motion co-processor that gathers data from the accelerometer, gyroscope and compass to offload work from the A7 for improved power efficiency.

The iPad Air is 9.7 inch is 20 percent thinner and 28 percent lighter than the previous model, while the iPad mini with Retina display is7.9 inch screen.

The A7 chip offers the iPad Air a CPU and graphics performance advancement of up to two times and to the iPad mini Retina Display the chip offers up to four times the CPU  and eight times the graphics performance. A7 chip’s 64-bit architecture and support for OpenGL ES version 3.0 unlocks game console-like visual effects.

The iPads feature two antennas to support Multiple-In-Multiple-Out (MIMO) technology,  which bring twice the Wi-Fi performance to iPad Air and iPad mini supporting a data rate up to 300 Mbps at compatible Wi-Fi hotspots. The cellular models also come with expanded LTE coverage to accommodate even more LTE networks worldwide.

Also in the two gadgets features a next generation FaceTime HD camera with improved backside illumination sensors which has larger pixels for better low-light performance.

The 5 megapixel camera sensor and advanced optics, combined with iOS 7 and the image signal processing of A7, further improves still image and video capture on iPad bringing faster auto-focus, up to three times video zoom, five times still zoom, better dynamic range and automatic image and video stabilization.

On November 1 , the iPad Air with Wi-Fi models will be available and the retail price will start from $499 for the 16GB model  with a $130 premium for the LTE model. iPad mini with Retina display will be available later that month.
