After releasing it SMS API earlier and raising $20,000 in funding from San Francisco’s Hub Ventures, last year and much focus and hard-work, Africa’s Talking has released its Voice API for developers in Africa.
The SMS-based web and communication platform said the Voice API is fully hosted in the cloud (no equipment needed) and comes with its easy to use tutorials and live developer support using its online chat system.
The Voice API enables one to build a system that can receive and make calls, record phone conversations, play recorded audio, do text to speech conversion in real-time, get and process user keypad and voice input or create and manage conference calls. The API also allows intelligent call handling and processing.
The fully featured, cloud hosted API means developers require no equipment at all and they can build their applications that make or receive calls in a second!
They can also integrate Voice into their customer management system to Automatically Identify Callers, Deploy Dynamic IVR Menu Systems, Analyze and Track your Phone Calls for Market Intelligence, Build Fully Featured Call Centers in the Cloud and read Dynamic Text such as Account Balances to Callers. Users will also be able to build voice based customer survey systems, build voicemail marketing systems or voice SMS and create conference calls.
Africa’s Talking say developers with cool ideas can utilize its Voice API feel free to pitch during the Startup Weekend Nairobi from Nov 22nd to 24th at Strathmore University iLab.
The Naiorbi-based firm serves majorly SMS and mobile developers in Africa.
