Telecel Zimbabwe Starts Christmas Early | Launches SMS Bundles Promotion

Telecel-2nd-StreetAs the festive season draws close, Telecel Zimbabwe has launched an SMS bundle promo in a move to allow its pre-paid subscribers to purchase short message service (SMS) bundles to cut costs on all local text messages.

Suscribers can either choose a bundle of 25 text messages at 20 cents and valid for one day or a one dollar bundle to send 250 SMSs for a week. Also subscribers can choose a three dollar bundle to send 400SMSs valid for 30 days. The promotion will run until December 31.

“For those who enjoy sending text messages, the savings realised from purchasing any of the TelecelSMS bundles are significant,” Telecel marketing director Octivius Kahiya said.

“For instance 20 cents would, at the normal standard rate of nine cents per text message, only allow one to send two SMSs. However a 20 cents SMS bundle would allow one to send 25 text messages.

“A dollar would, at the standard rate, be enough for 11 text messages. A one dollar SMS bundle would allow one to send 250 text messages,” he said.

The biggest saving is with the three dollar bundle. The standard rate would allow 33 text messages to be sent for three dollars. The three dollar SMS bundle allows 400 messages to be sent. It is valid for 30 days.

Interested subscribers should dial *404#, to go the menu then select the bundles they want to purchase using their airtime. A subscriber can only buy bundle at a time. The SMSs purchased within a bundle are for both on-net and off-net use. This means subscribers will be able to send bundle messages to any mobile phone number in Zimbabwe. International SMSs will be charged at normal peak and off- peak rates.
