No Grace For Unregistered SIM Card Owners In Zambia

All unregistered SIM card owners in Zambia will now not have any measn to communicate because the  Zambian government has ruled out any extension to the deadline for mobile phone users to register their SIM Cards.

They have until the 31st of the month to make amends, after which unregistered SIM cards will be disconnected by the mobile networks.

The country’s Minister of Communications, Yamfwa Mukanga said that there will be no extention to the deadline saying that the process had started 18 months ago, and that the telecommunication operators had stopped selling unregistered SIM cards to new customers last month.

About 4.4 million SIM Cards had been registered by August, which is the most recent data available.
