Nokia Appoints New Head of Communications to Ramp Up Its South East Africa Market Share

nokia-logoIn a move to ramp up its South and East Africa, Nokia has appointed a new head of communications who will be running its marketing, digital marketing, public relations and social media. marketshare

Leo McKay, the former head of communications for Nokia in South Africa started his career at Nokia in 2008 at the company’s Espoo headquarters. He handled a number of assignments while working in Finland, the last of which being in Nokia’s global press team as the head of global media strategy. McKay worked with many of the world’s most influential media and played a leading role in large scale global events and product launches. McKay also worked on the company’s financial communications around quarterly and annual results, did a large amount of executive speech writing for senior company executives, and served as an official spokesperson.

Prior to joining Nokia, Leo was a Vice-President at one of South African’s leading public relations agencies, FleishmanHillard.  He will be replacing Delia Sieff who has been promoted to head communications for Nokia in the Middle East and Africa.
