South Africa’s Nashua Buys 60% Stake in Swedish Office Automation Company

969237_738760792819038_661580392_nSouth Africa’s office automation systems and solutions firm Nashua Holdings (Pty) Ltd has acquired a 60% stake in Prodoc Svenska AB, a Swedish office automation, document solutions and workflow provider.

The deal opens new doors for Nashua to roll out its cutting-edge managed document solutions in a market it would take much to launch and dominate. Nashua’s acquisition of  the 1976 established Prodoc, also gives Nashua chance to use its expertise in franchising and its asset financing model to bolster further expansion.

“Prodoc has a strong management team with a proven track record,” said Dave Rawlinson, CEO of Reunert Limited, Nashua’s holding company. “This partnership will not only provide us with access to innovative document workflow systems, but could also provide an ideal base to expand into other Nordic countries.”

“Sweden has a strong and stable economy and is acknowledged for its innovative solutions and products. We can learn much from them,” said Mr Rawlinson.

The transaction effective from 1 January 2014 has met all the necessary regulatory requirements. Nashua and Prodoc both supply Ricoh products and rank within Ricoh International’s top five independent office automation distributors.
