The International Telecommunication Union (ITU) projects that 55% of the world’s 2.3 billion mobile-broadband subscriptions will be in the developing world by the end of 2014. Double-digit mobile-broadband subscription growth rates have been observed in all regions across the globe but Africa stands out with a projected 43% growth rate by the end of 2014 – the highest globally and twice that of Asia and the Pacific. Africa has also shown a tremendous increase in mobile-broadband penetration – rising from 2% in 2010 to 19% in 2014. Read more here…
