Airtel Kenya Changes its Short Codes Countrywide

airtel (1)This morning, Airtel Kenya changed its short codes for its Call Centre hotline, prepaid recharge, prepaid balance, voicemail retrieval and the USSD self-care code.

The new ones, effective today will be used by its prepaid customers countrywide. The call Centre hotline code has been changed from 111 or +254733100111 to 100 or +254733100100 while that of the prepaid recharge which was formerly *122*PIN# has been changed *130*PIN#.

If you are a prepaid Airtel customer, to check your balance you will be required to dial *131# and not *133#, as it was before. For voicemail retrieval the new code will be 123 and USSD self-care code will be *100#.

To get SMS bundles, Airtel customers will be required to dial *767# and select the bundle that they prefer. The lowest bundle consists of 5 SMS and the highest bundle has 100 SMS where a customer will send an SMS at Kshs. 0.2. All the SMS bundles however are valid for 24 hours.

For the data bundles the customers will be required to dial *544#. To subscribe for club 20 and club 10 tariffs respectively the prepaid customers will be required to dial *120#.Club 20 is a tariff where prepaid customers get 100 MB worth of data and 20 SMS for Kshs. 20 valid for 24 hours while club 10 tariff a subscriber is given 100 SMS daily and free calls from 10pm to 8am for Kshs 10 per day.
