Safaricom Set To Build $172million anti-terror System For Kenya.

Leading mobile company Safaricom is set to create security communications system worth ksh 14.9 billion in a bid to link all security agencies in the country a move geared to fight the rising level of terrorism.

The government will also allocate Safaricom with spectrum worth ksh7 billion in the first half on the project which will be in order to build a high speed 4G network to be exclusively used by police who will also handle ultra-high definition CCTV spy cameras with facial recognition capabilities to allow them track suspects. The surveillance cameras will also monitor police on duty at different locations.

The Kenya police will be supplied with sophisticated radio communications gadgets fitted with SIM cards and cameras to be used in capturing images at crime scenes which can be sent in real-time to the security database for analysis of evidence.
