uAfrica.com, a South African e-commerce technology company, has raised $1,5 million from bidorbuy.com, and Andy Higgins, the MD of uAfrica.com and also the founder of Bidorbuy.

uAfrica.com provides multi-channel cloud based e-commerce services to SMEs across Africa and has been in operating in the e-commerce industry since 2004.

Higgins is the founder and former MD of bidorbuy.co.za,. He joined the team in 2012 following which the company rebranded as uAfrica.com in order to facilitate a broader focus on all aspects of e-commerce.

Together with uAfrica.com’s director of Technology Jaco Roux Higgins plans to continue leading the company forward with more  focus put on eCommerce facilities that meet the needs of the locals
