No Sales For Ghana’s Expresso Until Next Month

Ghana’s Expresso  will not be able to  sign up new customers until the next month, as they have been issued a bann by the country’s regulator. It has been  has been banned from signing up new customers because of  complaints about poor network quality..

The telecoms regulator, the National Communications Authority (NCA) imposed the ban that affects both sales and marketing efforts by the mobile network operator. The regulator says that

According to the regulator, Expresso had operational challenges in all the three Northern regions as well as the Eastern and Volta regions.

With just 154,000 subscribers, Expresso has a market share of less than one percent of the market, and its market share has fallen in recent months.

The country as a whole ended the month with 27.7 million mobile phone users.

The sales ban is widely thought to be likely to see the company struggle to maintain its operations as a long term company and may be bought by one of its rivals.
