Rocket Internet’s Carmudi Crosses 100,000 Listings

carmudiblackRocket Internet-backed global car classifieds site Carmudi has today announced it has crossed 100,000 listings globally on its and over 240,000 fans on Facebook.

The site also announced to be live in 12 countries and 40 cities across 4 regions: Asia, Africa, Latam and the Middle East, just five months after it launched.

According to Stefan Haubold, Global Managing Director and Co-founder of Carmudi, “Having crossed 100,000 listings in such a short space of time goes to show that we are growing at a tremendous pace. We started out with a core team of 30 people and today we have grown to over 300 employees across the globe.”

It’s an exciting time to be in our business as it is projected that the online car market will be eight times as large in 2025 than it was in 2011.“Our aim is to make Carmudi a one-stop shop for our users. We would like to be a part of every person’s journey who ever thinks of owning, selling, maintaining or even learning about cars,” added Haubold.

Carmudi is also planning to continue its rapid expansion into at least 30 countries by the end of 2014. In doing so Carmudi will have a potential market of nearly 3 billion people. Its plans for expansion do not stop there.

Carmudi was founded in 2013 and is currently available in United Arab Emirates, SaudiArabia, Bangladesh, Pakistan, Cameroon, Ghana, Indonesia, Mexico, Myanmar, Nigeria, Philippinesand Vietnam. The vehicle marketplace offers buyers, sellers and car dealers the ideal platform to find cars, motorcycles and commercial vehicles online.

In May the firm launched in Saudi Arabia after raising $10 million in April from Tengelmann Ventures, to expand its operations in Asia according to a report by TechCrunch.
