tutor-ng77Nigeria’s Tutor.NG and Sterio.me have announced a strategic partnership and are set to launch full-stack Mobile Learning experience across Nigeria, including SMS and Voice based VAS mobile education services using the Sterio.me platform and eLearning via the mobile web and Tutor.ng app.

“Today, we are able to engage people through feature phones, giving everyone the opportunity to get a quality education and access to new opportunities” said Christopher Pruijsen, CEO of Sterio.me. “The best way to solve some of the biggest societal problems of our age is to form strategic partnerships. As the African proverb goes: if you want to go fast, go alone. If you want to go far, go together.”

The two will offer specifically crafted SMS and Voice content for mobile language learning, health, spiritual and agricultural content, as well as translation and dictionary services. The SMS and Voice content can be accessed from any type of phone (does not require internet access) and the Tutor.ng eLearning applications can be accessed from any smart phone device. Payment with airtime will be enabled via a shortcode.

sterioTutor and Sterio.me were inspired by the soaring education problems and high levels of illiteracy in the country. The two think that such educational solutions that can function seamlessly without reliance on data, smart phones and adequate literacy levels have high potential. With this partnership more people irrespective of their class or location are able to have access to education as long as there is a GSM signal in their community.

“We are excited about this partnership and believe it will enable us to deliver learning content to everyone with mobile access,” said Fehintolu Olaogun Head of Product, Tutor.NG, an Online Tutoring Platform providing tools and resources for engaging and teaching learners anytime, anywhere with over 5000 enrollments.
