Yesterday evening at iHub Nairobi, Mziiki.com launched its services to the public in a move to revolutionize Africa’s online music streaming services and beyond.
The free service unveiled by Spice VAS Africa, is aiming at bringing to the platform African and international artists users love at no cost. The app is now available free to download on Google Play, iOS, Blackberry and a mobile platform.
Vishall Rane, Regional Manager Spice VAS Africa told TechMoran, “Mziiki allows users to stream full tracks of music they love at the no cost and they can also share the music with their friends on social media.”
Rane says Mziiki will in future charge users a minimal amount for its revenue and also as revenue for the artists. Mziiki is not the first online music steaming service in Africa but is launching in a crowded filed with various applications with tweaked business models. Mziiki will take on services such as Spinlet, Orin, KasiMP3, iROKING, Truspot, Gidilounge, Simfy, lasgiditunes, Grumi and MyMusic, Mdundo Uganda’s MyZiki among others.
The firm says music is more than just the music about the beat that fills people with joy and is about sharing the groove, starting a celebration, and moving to the rhythm of people’s favourite tracks.
