Canadian Jaroslav Chorny came to Kenya with his kids for a holiday but he got more than just a holiday, he was inspired to develop a foldable stand for mobile electronic devices after he saw the Embakasi Garrison Primary School kids struggle with how to handle their 250 tablets they had been given as a donation.
The donation given during the launch of the ‘Power of mLearning in Kenya, was a pilot project expected to be rolled out countrywide to cover other public primary schools in Kenya.
“Our team decided that the “Scööb – the stand for your tablet” would be a great compliment to this donation and together with your help, we are going to donate 250 Scööb stands to kids in Africa, “says Jaroslav with his two daughters Uliana and Olivia.
The team of three aim to raise $5,000 CAD in funding to build Scööb – the foldable stand for mobile electronic devices such as tablets, smartphones, electronic readers. Scööb is suitable for any brand of tablets and smart phones and is very affordable. The stand is mad out of a thin 0.5 mm polypropylene plastic sheet, and unfolded, can fit in any tablet sleeve, back pocket, or in a regular mail envelope. In no time Scööb can be converted to a sturdy stand for your device. Because Scööb is made from polypropylene plastic – it can be folded thousands of times and will not break.
The project aims finish the Kickstarter Campaign by July and have the production tooling commissioned and quality tested. By Agust, start manufacturing Scööb and packaging and by September send rewards sent out to Backers.
We are happy for Embakasi Garrison Primary School in Nairobi, but this will happen only if you donate.Read more about Free test papers and free exam papers samples by qualified writers.
