Startappz takes home 9 trophies and the App Company of the Year award

startuosTwo year-old Startappz, an Egypt, UAE, Jordan, KSA and USA app developer firm took home 9 awards on Sunday 8th June 2014 on the Jordan App & Web Awards (Jawa) ceremony. The firm has 12 released apps on iOS, Android, and Windows Phone, over 2 million app downloads, and a wide array of clients and partners who came to trust the company as their official digital partner.

The Jordan App & Web Award is organised by the Pan Arab Excellence Awards Academy and MediaScope, and sponsored by the Jordanian Ministry of Information and Communications Technology, as well as industry leaders in Jordan and the region. The annual Awards have had it’s first edition in 2007, and since, have been established as a reputable event for the ICT sector in Jordan which is attended by over 350 ICT specialists each year.

Startappz have won 8 awards ranging from gold to silver for 8 of their mobile apps, in addition to being proudly dubbed as the official “App Company of the Year”. Out of the 8 nominated News and Media awards, Startappz took the gold award for Hawaa World, an interactive ipad magazine dedicated for women, and the silver award for Zafafi Wedding Magazine. As for the Sport dedicated apps category, the recently released world cup application Haddaf won the gold award and was commended on its beautiful design and functionality.

Mohammed Khawaja, Startappz CEO said, “I was overwhelmed and filled with pride for the amount of support and love our apps got in the awards, and was impressed with the level of expertise and professionality in handling and managing the event by the organizers, we as a team will have to work harder on those coming months to keep our promise of always developing and designing fascinating mobile, social, and web apps.”

Among the winnings were Appolo (Gold) for the directories and listing category, Ana wa Tefli (Gold) and Nabdat (Bronze) for the healthcare content and services category, Mobily Fallah (Silver) for entertainment and multimedia, and Mobily Easy Charge (Gold) for telecommunication services.

Startappz is working on helping governments get smarter, as well as design and develop the 70+ applications in the pipeline for this year, and build stronger and more solid partnerships with companies around the region.
